Who is throwing styrofoam at me?

The day started out pretty cold at 21 degrees but we still went to playgroup because it is not only playtime for Ethan but a chance for mommy to get a break and get out of the house. Once we returned home the day got a little warmer but not by much. After putting Ethan down for a nap I went outside to throw the trash. While I was out there some white stuff was landing on me that looked like broken up Styrofoam. I actually turned around expecting to find a person throwing Styrofoam on me (why I have no clue, I am just weird). Of course, no one was standing there and the ditz that I am realized that it was snow. Yes, it was snowing! Thankfully, it didn't stick but I am really starting to dread that it is the beginning of October and already snow. I can safely bet it isn't snowing in San Angelo. One good thing is that I have already gotten Ethan a thick winter coat in case the weather gets worse.

Iowa

Crawling in the Hanger
Four Generations

We went to Iowa over Columbus weekend to visit Grandpa and Grandma Haut as well as that side of the family. It was about a seven hour drive but we enjoyed seeing all of them. Ethan got to meet his great grandparents and warmed up to them like he has known them forever. During the weekend we looked at old pictures, heard some hilarious stories, toke a boat ride on the Mississippi River, doubled our money at the River Casino and ended it off with a plane ride from Great Grandpa Haut (Eric and I went on the plane ride, Ethan stayed in the hanger). We had so much fun and hopefully we will be able to make it out there again.

Oh yeah, Ethan turns 9 months today.

Military Wife

The good Lord was creating a model for military wives and was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared. She said," Lord, you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one. What's wrong with the standard model?"

The Lord replied," Have you seen the specs on this order? She has to be completely independent, possess the qualities of both mother and father, be a perfect hostess for four to 40 with an hour notice, run on black coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able to carry on cheerfully, even if she is pregnant and has the flu, and she must have six pair of hands."

The angel shook her head. "Six pair of hands? No way!"
The Lord continued. "Don't worry, we will make other military wives to help her. And we will give her an unusually strong heart so it can swell with pride in her husbands achievements, sustain the pain of separation, beat soundly when it is overworked and tired, and be large enough to say, "I understand" when she doesn't and "I love you" regardless.
"Lord," said the angel, touching his arm gently, "Go to bed and get some rest. You can finish this tomorrow."

"I can't stop now," Said the Lord. "I am so close to creating something unique. Already this model heals herself when she is sick, can put up six unexpected guests for the weekend, wave good-bye to her husband from a pier, a runway or a depot, and understand why it's important that he leave."
The angel circled the model of the military wife, looked at it
closely and sighed.

"It looks fine, but it's too soft."
"She may look soft," replied the Lord, "but she had the strength of a lion. You would not believe what she can endure."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the Lord's creation. "There's a leak," she announced. "Something is wrong with the construction. I'm not surprised that it has cracked. You are trying to put too much into this model."

The Lord appeared offended at the angel's lack of confidence. "What you see is not a leak," he said. "It's a tear."
"A tear? What is it there for?" asked the angel.
The Lord replied, "It's for joy, sadness, pain, disappointment, loneliness, pride and dedication to all the values that she and her husband hold dear."
"You are a genius!" exclaimed the angel.
The Lord looked puzzled and replied, "I didn't put it there."

9 month check up

Today we had Ethan's well baby check-up. He now weighs 20.3 lbs, and his length is 28 inches. He has lost some weight but the doctor said it was due to him crawling. Thankfully there were no shots at this visit, but Ethan reacted as if he was given a shot. He is going through this whole seperation anxiety thing and the nurse or doctor could't get close to him without him clawing on me. It got worse when I placed him on the scale and stepped back. He started to cry so bad it sounded like a growl. The doctor said we should try leaving him with a sitter so he can get used to being around other people.

Goodbye walrus crawl

I guess the babies at playgroup had an effect on Ethan because later that night before bedtime, Ethan gave up his walrus crawl for the regular crawl. Here is the video .

Ethan goes to the farm

Today we visited the Young's Dairy Farm and Pumpkin Patch. We had fun petting all the animals and Ethan got to sit on the tractor. Ethan enjoyed playing with all the pumpkins and he picked two baby ones for himself. We finished off the visit with some homemade ice cream from the dairy.

It's getting colder

The days are getting a little colder; today's temperature is 55 degrees. However, it didn't stop us from going to playgroup. Ethan was having a ball and just couldn't get over all the other infants moving around. He kept me busy by either chasing him or prying him off of another baby. He has this fascination with heads. He is constantly trying to touch their heads and then grabs their hair.

It was also a great chance for me to meet some other AFIT spouses. We each brought something to eat and a recipe to share. I brought muffins and my recipe was for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip bread. It is so delicious and I got it from another spouse at Goodfellow.

I enjoy getting out of the house and socializing. You know I don't say no to talking or to food!

Old foggies

The other day Eric and I started to watch Wheel of Fortune. Yes, I admit it! To us it seemed that only old people got into it. We catch ourselves watching it everyday. Isn’t that sad! How did we go from knowing which bars had their nightly specials in college to actually scanning the preview guide to find Wheel of Fortune or the Price is Right which by the way I think Barker is a robot because that man was super old when I was a baby. In my defense I do have some age appropriate shows, like Grey’s Anatomy and Fashion Runway. I just wish they didn’t come on so late, because 10:00 is my bedtime. Yes, 10:00 is my bedtime, go ahead and laugh but if I don’t get my sleep I am not the nicest person. It is just not our TV viewing that surprises us but the other night I treated myself to a cape cod for my birthday. For those of you that know me, would know that it is my drink of choice and have drank them for a while. The other night I realized I hadn’t had one in a LONG time because after one I was already loopy. It isn’t that I don’t like to drink while watching Ethan. It is just if you drink more than one, it is so hard to get up with a baby. Therefore, it is just easier to not drink.

I don’t know if this is due to becoming parents or if we have just gotten soft but hopefully we can figure something out so we don’t feel so old. I will tell you one thing though; I am not giving up the Wheel of Fortune. Especially because Eric and I race each other to see who can solve the puzzle and I sometimes beat him. He hates to be beaten by a girl, which is why we don’t play rummy any more. Well then I guess there is only one solution to fix our problem. Drink more!

What is going on? Part II

Last night we did the same “ going to bed” routine we have always done and he was put down at his bedtime, which is 8:00. Eric and I went to bed earlier because we were sure it was going to be a repeat of the night before. Plus we had some new ideas on how to fix this and were ready to try them out. However, around 7:15 this morning, Eric and I were so surprised to see that Ethan was still sleeping. I honestly have no clue what is going on. I hope it was just a phase and that the late sleeper Ethan replaced the early riser.

Backyard Fun

Showing pride for the UNM Lobos. The gate won't stop me, I will go up the side.
Just hanging around.

What is going on?

For the past couple of weeks Ethan has been waking up earlier and earlier. He use to wake up at 7 everyday, which we loved! Then he started to wake up at 6, then it was 5, then it was 4 and ending with the earliest which is now 3. After an hour of trying to calm him down to go back to sleep, I eventually give up and hand him a bottle. Once he is done he goes back into his crib and I can hear him playing for about 10 mnutes and then he is out till about 7. I just don't understand what went wrong. He was doing so good, now it seems were are moving backwords. All the books say that he is going trough the whole seperation anxiety phase, but I don't think that is it because he could care less if I was in the room, he just wants his bottle. It could be seperation anxiety from the bottle, I suppose. I have tried packing his last bottle with cereal but that didn't work. Uugh I hope he either grows out of it or we are going to have to start reading more on how to solve our little problem. Any suggestions would sure be helpful.

Little Daredevil

This picture was taken a couple of days ago, but I just had forgotten to post it. He has advanced from just standing there to actually being on the third step. We will be going to get a gate as soon as possible.

Happy Grandparent's Day

We hope that everyone received their cards of appreciation, especially since Ethan signed it himself.

Monday, September 11, 2006

Now you get it…. and so do we.

For a while now, Ethan has been saying Dada and Mama but Eric and I knew that he was just repeating us and not truly understanding the meanings. However, the other day I walked out of the room and he started to crawl in my direction while saying mama over and over again. That is when we started to think that he was catching on. What confirmed it was when Eric was holding Ethan and he looked at me, extended his arms and started to say mama. It was so cute that he wanted me and actually made it known by saying mama. The best time is when he is crying and says mama. It makes me feel so loved that he understands I can help whatever the problem may be. It is great to finally see appreciation.

Even though, Ethan hasn’t directly said Dada to Eric. I think he knows who he is because everyday I say “ Look, Daddy’s home” Ethan will stop what he is doing and look at the door. Once he notices Eric, he will start moving his arms like he is saying, “ Hey, I am over here.” Then he starts moving real fast towards the door. I think it brightens Ethan’s day as well as Daddy’s.

However, since Ethan has realized that he can express himself through his voice we are also getting some bad behavior. The first time was when I had him in the bath and he wanted to turn the wrong way in his bath, so I turned him back to where he was supposed to be. After the third time of doing this, he looked up at me with his nose all scrunched up and gave a loud scream. I didn’t know what to do so I just stood silently but inside I was freaking out because my precious baby had just turned on me. Eric, who was in the next room, walked in and said “Did he just yell at you?” I replied, “I think so…or it maybe just sounded like a yell but he was just playing”. (Case: Naïve mother doesn’t want to think that her 8-month would already be acting up.) Well, what finally opened my eyes is when Ethan started yelling at Eric because Eric kept moving him away from the trashcan. Ethan just started yelling with this ugly face of anger. Eric, in a higher voice says “HEY!” Ethan stopped and looked down like as if he knew he had done something wrong. Eric and I looked at each other with the expression of 'what have we created?' He just turned on us overnight. Since then we have been getting louder screams of disapproval and tantrums that consist of him pushing you away or trying to throw himself out of your arms. I thought this happened around the terrible two’s; he is not even a year old yet.

Look at all of the green!

These are pictures at our new house. Being in the desert all of my life I have only heard of the beautiful green landscape.

So much to talk about

We are so excited that we have cable and Internet now!! We were going crazy and felt disconnected from the world.

This year has flown by so fast and I am exhausted. Not only from the rush of getting our home together but just keeping up with Ethan. He is moving around so much and seems to weigh more and more everyday. Going up and down the stairs in our house is exhausting but hopefully my legs will get a great workout.

Ethan is still doing the army crawl and I am wondering if he will continue since it works so well for him and not try to crawl. He has started to pull himself up using the couch but just can’t seem to hold on and falls back onto the floor. I am just excited because now that he has been able to sit on his own for a while without falling over means I have switched car seats and don’t have to drag that bulky one everywhere. It is so great when we go into a restaurant or into a store and he just fits great in the cart or highchair.

Lately he has become so interested in the Jager and is constantly crawling towards him and tries to grab at Jager’s face. Jager is such a good sport and takes it with stride. However Jager loves to give Ethan kisses and sometimes gets too excited so I have to be right there to stop him because Ethan loves it when Jager licks him and laughs in delight.

Ethan is still a happy eater but has now made it clear of what foods are just not for him. Green Beans and Peas are those foods. I have tried them over and over but he just gives me this look like “Are you serious?’ and then starts to gag. However he likes all the other vegetables so it isn’t just fruits and desserts. His favorite is Dutch Apple Dessert and when he is being fed his favorites he has started to say Mmmmmm after each bite. It is so cute!!

Ethan still has his two bottom teeth but I doubt it will be long before a couple more start to pop up. I can tell when one starts to cut because it seems that he just whines all day no matter what I do. Although he does love to go on walks and sometimes it cuts the whining out. It is starting to get a little colder outside so I don’t know how much longer I will be able to take him. In Texas during September I was wearing shorts and tank tops, in Ohio I am wearing Jeans and have a sweater on hand. I guess we have traded the heat for greenery. Now we will be able to experience all seasons.

I am sorry that this is so long, just so much has happened.

PICS: The top two are from when we went to Schlitterbahn, the next two are when Tiffany came to visit us and we went on the boat for some fun and the last one is of Ethan's Baptism with us, his godparents and the Preacher.

Waiting for Internet

The base library is the only place that I can have access to the internet since the cable people can't get out here till Sept 6th. Therefore this will be short due to the fact I have Ethan with me.

He now has two teeth and is still fiesty as ever. His smiles were always cute but now that he has teeth, it adds in some extra cuteness. "Walrus" is the nickname that Eric has given Ethan because when Ethan starts moving around the house he looks just like a Walrus. He has not learned that he needs to pick his legs up to crawl, so he ends up pulling with arms and his legs follow him. It is something different to see. He will get into the crawling stance but ends up backing out. By all this moving around the saucer has been replaced with a walker. He loves it and is all over the kitchen. However, since this kitchen is about half the size of our last he has to move with the walls and there is not really that much space. Yesterday we backed the cars out of the driveway and let him loose. He was loving it and it was a work out because he was in bed by 8 without a fuss.

I will add tons of pictures once we get the internet so that everyone can see how big he has grown. I think he is going thru a growth spurt because his naps have been longer than they usually are.

1300 Miles

We have finally made it!!!! It was such a long drive and hit us a little harder than expected. Picture this. 2 cars, 7 month old Ethan, 1 hyper dog and both cars packed to the max. I can leave it up to your imagination on how the trip went. With all that over with, we have been busy trying to get settled.

Eric has a lot of down time till the beginning of Sept so we have been trying to get processed and eagerly waiting for our furniture to be delivered. Unfortunately, it will not be delivered till Monday. This is due to the huge mass of students coming in for the fall session. Therefore we have already started sightseeing what unique things there are in this area. Yesterday we went to the Aviation Museum on Wright-Patt. It is a great museum with so many wonderful exhibits. We got a chance to learn a little on the history of the Wright Brothers first flight leading to all of the modern planes. We will defiantly be taking any guest that comes to visit us; it is something not to be missed.

I love the neighborhood that we have moved into because it is family oriented. As soon as 7 o’clock rolls around it seems everyone is outside either socializing with their neighbors or playing with their kids. Everybody has come over and welcomed us to the neighborhood. They all are AFIT students and spouses so that helps me a lot because they can give me the low down on what life will be like. The best part is that there are 2 other babies on the block around Ethan’s age, so that should be fun.

Ethan has been so busy! He has turned into this curious infant that wants nothing to do with us (well until it is feeding time). After a while of holding him, he is trying to wiggle out of your arms to get on the floor and experience life down there. He has got the sitting position down and can even go from lying on his stomach to the sitting position. He hasn’t started to crawl yet, but it isn’t far off. He will get on all four’s see something he wants lay on his stomach and then pull with his arms and push with his feet. He is getting better everyday and I have to keep a close watch on him because he will be across the room before I know it. As soon as I get our computer up and running I will put a video on of him doing it. He has also discovered outlets, and I am constantly telling him not to touch them. Even though they are covered, I still don’t want prying hands all over them. Lately, Ethan has become more vocal and still has his fake couch. People have looked at us awkward in restaurants because of his weird noises. We just say that he is okay and he does it on purpose. Ohh I almost forgot, Ethan has started his sippy cup. I wanted to make sure he could hold his own bottle before we started the cup. He loves it because I think he sees us doing it and wants to do it too. Anytime he sees me drinking from a cup he grabs it and drags it to his mouth and starts to drink from it. (Sometimes it is coke! I know bad mommy, I am slapping my hand now. Hey at least it is not alcohol!) Anyways, he likes it and it may help us out later when we will start to take the bottle away.

First Tooth

On the morning of August the 5th, I couldn't get Ethan to stop fussing so I lent him my knuckle to chew on. He was searching for anything to put in his mouth. It was then that I realized that something really sharp pricked my finger. I looked in his mouth and there was a little sharp tooth piercing out of his bottom gum. Of course we had to wake Daddy up and show him the new tooth. Since this has happened the only fingers he will be biting on are his own. That tooth is real sharp!!

Update

On the last post I had forgotten to mention that we weren’t going to be leaving till August 15th to Ohio. I have received phone calls wondering how come we have not reached Ohio yet! Since we had sold our house in one day we had to move into a furnished corporate apartment until we can leave in August. It will only be for one month, so it is not too bad. It actually reminds Eric and I of our college days. There was no way I was going to move into the TLF for a month. Whoever thought that those were family units was out of their mind.

Since the move we have been busy trying to finish other stuff. One includes Ethan’s Baptism. It will be this weekend in our hometown so all of our family could attend. Afterwards we will throw a party to celebrate the special occasion. I am so excited to see him in his cute white outfit. Eric’s Uncle Art and his wife Aunt Belinda are going to be Ethan’s Godparents. We are so happy that they were able to jump thru all the hoops because Ethan is truly blessed to have them. It will be a fun occasion and a chance for us to visit with our families for the last time before we move.

It has been so hot, we have been keeping cool either in the pool or at the lake.Last weekend we took Ethan on the boat and had a great time. Him and I got off and swam while Eric fished. It felt great to cool off in the water. He loves to splash and will stop for a second to catch his breath and wipe his face. Then he will start all over again. Towards the end of the boat ride, Ethan started to fall asleep to the sound of the boat and the wind. Also, there will be more water fun because right before we leave to Ohio we are going to make one last stop at Schlitterbahn with my family. It should be fun!

Our family wants to send out our prayers and support to the Pubillones Family as Olivia’s Daddy, Mike leaves for Iraq. We are here for you anytime you may need us.

Till we meet again, XOXOX

The packers are coming on Wednesday, therefore this will be our last entry until we get to Ohio or until I can get to a computer. Ethan is in the teething stage, that means his chin and shirts are always wet. He is not into the teething rings or the wet washcloths. However, the Humphrey tablets really help in calming him down and it seems to do the trick. He always has his hands in his mouth or anything else that he can get to fit in there. One personality that has come out in Ethan is shyness. Whenever we get around other people that he doesn't know and someone starts to play with him he starts to smile, get real shy, tries to dig his face into my chest, and then he will look again to see if that person is still there. It is too cute! One picture is mommy kissing him and the other is Ethan playing before bath.

Congrats to cousin Dez on her engagement!!! We are so excited and can't wait for the big day. By the way, the ring is fabulous.

Rolling around

Ethan has outgrown his bouncer and I am afraid to leave him in his swing unattended because he has this habit of pushing himself off of the seat and putting both hands on the floor. It scares me to death but he doesn't seem to mind. Therefore, in order for me to get anything done he gets to go on the floor. I don't know why I bother to put a blanket on the floor because he seems to roll all around it. The other day he rolled from one room across the tile hallway and into the other room. In the picture Ethan rolled over to the TV and just laid there watching it while kicking the bottom part. Eric said, "Look, he is already messing with the TV and not even six months". I am really trying to enjoy this because I know when he starts to crawl or even walk. I know I will have trouble keeping up.

For Fathers Day we had a relaxing day at home. It almost seemed that Ethan knew it was Father's Day because he really didn't fuss and either played or slept most of the day. It was a lazy Sunday for us all. We took Daddy out for some barbeque and dessert and enjoyed watching the TV for the rest of the night.

Finishing up

This month we are busy trying to get organized especially since we will be moving out of our house and to Ohio. I am also trying to finish up my job with the spouses club and get it squared away for next year. That is if there is going to be a board. Eric is getting excited about moving and trying something different. I am excited but I am really going to miss San Angelo. I have made many friends and have been accustomed to living in Texas. I truly think it is the friendliest state. Everyone always says hello and sometimes you can catch yourself having a great conversation with complete strangers. San Angelo will hold a special place in my heart because our 1st child was born here and we purchased our 1st home here. I am sure that every base will be just as great, but I do hope to come back to Texas. Especially since the weather is warmer, I will take 110 over 30 any day.

Ethan is doing wonderfully as always. Now it is getting to that time that even if I walk away for a moment he will roll himself to a completely different spot. It is quite interesting because sometimes he will move himself right next to a wall and still want to continue rolling. You can see that he tries real hard but just can't seem to move the wall. We tried peaches the other day and he had the cutest face. It was quite tart! One funny thing is that Ethan has started to recognize his bottle. Whenever I start to bring it to him, he just starts smiling and moving his arms and legs. He will try his hardest to sit up just to get it in his mouth little quicker. Only his head and neck will move up, not his chest. Eric and I really get a kick out of it.

Sweet Potatoes, YUM!!

Since Ethan has taken to cereal well, we have started on fruits and veggies. In the video he is enjoying him some sweet potatoes. One thing about Ethan is that he is does not shy away from food. He did really well and ate the whole thing. I just don't want to be the one to change the diaper when the food makes it re-appearance. Nice orange sweet potatoes (God, please let it be Eric).

Fun at the pool

Yesterday Ethan and I went to the pool with some friends of ours. He looked so cute in his swimming trunks and his floppy hat. I didn't take any pictures because with my luck I would of dropped the camera in the pool. It looked like he was having fun. His face was getting all wet because he kept splashing his hands around. He really didn't seem to mind. Since Texas is so hot, we will be going back. I will try to get a picture next time. Other than that he is doing real good. Constantly rolling around and baby talking. I can't believe he is going to be 5 months, I don't know where the time went.

What is this stuff in my mouth?

On Tuesday Ethan got first hand experience on what baby cereal taste like. We put him in his highchair and tried to keep the mess minimal. He did better than I expected. Once he got the hang of something solid in his mouth he started to swallow his cereal. However, much of it ended up on his face. I have been giving him cereal twice a day since then and some feedings he does real good while other feedings he shuts his mouth tight and makes a fuss. I think he will get the hang of it.

When we arrived from Alamo on Monday, I placed Ethan on his play mat so I could make a bottle and Eric was bringing in our luggage. While waiting for his bottle Ethan started to cry and get really upset. I was rushing to find his formula, than all of a sudden there was silence. I walked over to see why he suddenly got quite and noticed he had rolled from his back onto his stomach. Now Ethan does roll from his stomach to his back but whenever he is placed on his stomach he gives such a fit that I thought this kid will never want to roll onto his stomach. He has proved me wrong once again. Since then I am constantly finding him on his stomach and perfectly content. Even this morning Eric found him in his crib sleeping on his stomach. He must have rolled over during the night.

Grand Canyon and Graduation

I know that it has been awhile since I have put any new info or pics. We are sorry, but we have really good excuses. We first flew to Arizona to visit Grandpa and Grandma Haut. The flights weren’t that bad, it just wore all of us out. Ethan did better than expected and sleep most of the way. However, Arizona is two hours behind our time zone so since Ethan normally wakes up at 7:30 here. He was waking up at 5:30 there, other than that no major complaints. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute of it. It was the first time they had seen Ethan since he was born. He was spoiled rotten! While we were on vacation we visited the Grand Canyon (or what I refer to as the “big hole in the ground”). It was interesting to see and we took tons of pictures. We also got a chance to ride on the Colorado River. The scenery was phenomenal and it was a great vacation.

After our little vacation we headed to Alamo during Memorial weekend. Eric’s sister Danielle, cousin Gina and my cousin Janesse graduated from High School. Therefore, we celebrated their achievements and got a chance to visit family as well as friends. Especially the Bolins, it was great to see them and their two children.

I had mentioned that we put our house up for sale. While we were in Arizona it sold. We are happy that the stress of an unsold house is not on our minds. Now we are just waiting for August to move.

1st Mother's Day

First, I would like to say a Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers! Especially since becoming a mother, I know that each mom deserves one day that is dedicated to her. There should be more days that celebrate all the hard work.

My first Mother's Day was very fun and relaxing. Eric did a great job in making sure that it turned out to be a special day. We just relaxed during the day, played with Ethan and then went to Johnny Carinos for dinner and dessert. We also went and toke Ethan's pictures so we will be handing them out when they get delivered.

Ethan's Videos

Yesterday after Ethan's doctor appointment we were playing with the video camera. It was a good thing, since Ethan rolled over for the first time. We also have a video of him laughing. Tell us what you think.

4 month check-up and Bingo

Yesterday Ethan turned 4 months old. It has flown by! He has turned from a snuggling calm baby to a constantly moving and active infant. Today Ethan had his 4-month check up appointment. The doctor said he was looking real healthy (ok I know my kid is a little chubby, that’s how I like my babies!) and had great pinching cheeks. His weight is 15lbs and 6oz, height is 24 in and his head size is 16 1/2 in. He did get 3 shots today. He handled it much better than the last time. He only screamed as she was giving them but as soon as he was picked up he calmed down to just a bottom lip whimper. As soon as we got home he passed out, as you can see in the picture. My poor baby :(

In other news, I am hosting a function for the OSC called Crystal Basket Bingo tonight and it will be the final event of the board year. I am excited and hopefully I will win something this year. It will be the last event for me at Goodfellow since we will be leaving around July. I have been on the board for two years and even with all the hard work. I have enjoyed all the people that I have met and will remember the friendships that I have made. Ladies, it has been my pleasure!

Busy Month

The month of May is going to be one of Ethan's busiest months. Ethan will be going on an airplane for the very first time. We are heading to Arizona to visit family, Wish us luck! I hope he stays clam and enjoys the ride. Ethan will also be visiting family in Alamo and attending his aunts High School graduation. Congrats Danielle!! On top of all of that we have put our house on the market and hope to be selling it soon. Hopefully Ethan will be able to keep up with our hectic month and not get too much out of his routine.

Ethan turns 4 months in couple of days and will be receiving another couple rounds of shots. He has plumped up nice and may continue to since we are about to start solids. He is still trying to roll over but he is a scooter. He will just move his butt and legs whichever direction he wants to go. He ends up moving out of his play area. He is slobbering and trying to put everything in his mouth. He babbles a lot and now realizes that he has different pitches. He will start cooing real loud, stops and lowers his voice. It is hilarious. Eric gets a kick out of it. Ethan is still giggling and it is just the cutest giggle ever. I know I get a kick out of it and try real hard to get him to giggle. Ethan has discovered that he has feet. The other day he was trying to hold on to them while kicking. It was a struggle! He has tried to bring them closer to his mouth but I think his nice round belly is preventing that. I have enclosed some new pictures as well as one old one so that you can see how much he has grown. He is not a newborn anymore!

Ethan Update

Lately Ethan has been trying real hard to rollover. As you can see in one picture he is almost there but just can't get his arm out from under him. We think he is also teething because he has his hands constantly in his mouth and has been drooling everywhere. He shirt gets real soaked. The other day I put my knuckle in his mouth to see if it helped and once I toke it out he had a huge fit. He won’t take any of his teething rings. He only wants flesh.

He is still doing great on sleeping! Lately around 8:30 he just gets this look in his eyes like "Bed please". We will put him in his crib and he won't fight it like he does with his naps. He smiles, turns his little cute head to one side and less than a second he is sleeping. In the picture where he is sleeping, I walked in to find him lying like that. We did not pose him. However, the last pic we kind of put him that way. He looks like a baby model.
