Aloha Hawai'i and Happy 4th of July!!

Well we've finally made it to Hawaii and there was only ONE meltdown on the plane so I call it a success!  We were greeted by our friends and now our new neighbors, The Camerons, via the traditional Hawaiian way with these beautiful leis and a bag full of treats!

Being a military kid is a tough gig and these kids have definitely had their ups and downs, but I hope they always remember how lucky they are to live here and what a blessing it is to be able to experience the life that the military has provided us.   I was very fortunate to spend some years here as a kid and will never forget the memories that I made with my sisters, so I only hope the same for them.  We're hoping our stay here is longer than 2 years, but even if isn't,
we're going to make every moment count!

Hotel Life aka Fun Life!
Thankfully there will be no house hunting for us as we were able to find the perfect fit prior to moving here, but the long weekend means our temporary furniture doesn't get delivered for 3 days so hotel life until then.  Then it's the waiting game for our household goods which will be delivered in 2 months.

Our 4th of July BBQ was ordered out, but it was still delicious!!

Seattle, WA

On our move to Hawaii we had roughly one week after change of command, but before we could fly out so it was either stay in South Dakota for that long and take multiple flights to get to there or we get to check out a new city, ship our car for less and its a nonstop flight to Hawaii.  No brainer for us because it was better for Lexie and Eli which means the whole family comes out slightly less traumatized.  So off to Seattle we went! Eric and I have never been to Seattle, so it was neat to get to experience that with the kids. Of course Washington is absolutely gorgeous and we were super lucky to land an Airbnb in Gig Harbor only after we realized upon arrival at our first Airbnb that it wasn't advertised truthfully.  That was a fiasco, but thankfully Airbnb has great customer service.  Besides enjoying the beautiful small town of Gig Harbor, we visited the Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, the Fremont Troll and the infamous Public Market Center.

Also, we were super lucky that we were able to meet and catch up with some members of our hydro family, The Riggs, on the drive through Idaho.  I adore this beautiful family and it made my week!
