Early 4th of July

1st time having cotton candy, he loved it. He and I finished a whole bag.

There he is sleeping on Mommy before the Fireworks.

The base had their firework celebration a little early but it has to be the best display I have ever seen. They started out the day with performances from the Air Force Band and Tops in Blue and once it got dark, the fireworks were lit. However, by that time Ethan passed out and slept straight through it. I thought that since it was loud and somewhat long that he was going to wake up but he did not budge. It ended very late so by the time we got home we all just went straight to bed. Fireworks are just one of those things that you never outgrow. I loved it!

Visits from the Grandparents Part II

The following pictures are from the next visit we had which were my parents and my brother. Of course, Ethan got spoiled some more and Eric and I think he has put on extra weight due to all the treats he had slipped to him these two weeks. We hope that both sets of the family had fun and we will be seeing you again in about a month.

Visits from the Grandparents

Since Eric had this month off from school, Ethan’s grandparents have made plans to come and visit us. Last week we had Eric’s parents and his brother here. We went everywhere and just about did everything. Of course, we had fun visiting with them and Ethan was just thrilled with his little seat on the spoiled chair. Next week my parents and my brother are coming to visit us so there will be more pictures to share. I will say one thing, it is going to be hard trying to get him back on a schedule after these visits but it is so worth it seeing that he barely gets to see them.

Grandparents are similar to a piece of string - handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of their grandchildren. ~Author Unknown

The pool can go.... but the sprinkler can stay!

I figured since Ethan did not like the pool that he was not going to like the sprinkler either. He proved me wrong yesterday when he ran straight into it with all of his clothes on. He looked like he was having so much fun that I decided to run in the sprinkler with him. We were both soaked and I think I was a lot colder than he was because he did not want to come inside for a bath. He was ready for more. We had a blast and it reminded me of when I was a little girl playing in the water with my sisters. He keeps me young!

Strawberry Festival

Ty and Ethan

One good thing about Ohio is that there are so many festivals during the summer. This weekend we went to the Strawberry Festival. It was quite funny to see what people can make using strawberries. One in particular was the fried strawberries they were selling. Even though I am all about fried food, fried strawberries did not sound very tasty so we just indulged in the strawberry shakes, yummy.

Playing in the pool

Yesterday I took out the pool and filled it up with water and all of the toys that I could find. However, once Ethan got in he started crying and wouldn't stop till he was out of the pool. His little buddy Ty seemed to enjoy it more that Ethan did. Ty had fun in the pool and Ethan played in the wet grass around it. We are just going to have to try again later.
